Why 130/0.4 Hydroxyethyl Starch?

Tetravan utilizes 3rd generation balanced molar substitution (130/0.4) providing optimal plasma volume expansion with minimal side effects.

Optimal Colloid Duration: Maintains intravascular volume expansion for 4–6 hours without prolonged tissue storage.
Low Coagulation Impact: Minimal effect on factor VIII and von Willebrand factor compared to older starches (HES 200/0.5).
Rapid Renal Clearance: Low molar substitution allows rapid metabolism and excretion.

Dosage & Administration

Max Daily Dose Up to 50 ml / kg body weight per day (equivalent to 3500 ml for a 70 kg patient).

Administration Route Intravenous infusion only. 500 ml single-dose container. Rate adjusted to clinical state.
